Where Emirates’ Massive 615-Seat Airbus A380s Will Fly In 2026: Routes & Map

Everyone knows that Emirates is overwhelmingly the world’s largest Airbus A380 operator. According to ch-aviation, it has 116 double-decker aircraft, although not all are active. Eight configurations exist, each with a different number of seats. Capacity varies from 468 seats to a whopping 615.

Emirates has 15 A380s with 615 seats. Each frame has 58 business seats (far fewer than on the airline’s other superjumbos) and 557 seats in economy. The two-class layout is, of course, far less premium than the alternatives, which naturally dictates where it is used.

The 615-seat configuration is deployed to very high-volume, lower-yielding, lower-premium, and typically more leisure-driven destinations. The much higher passenger volume helps to offset the lower yields, which contribute to higher overall seat revenue. Of course, consistently filling so many seats might be a tall order.

Cirium Diio data for the first half of 2026 (January-June) indicate that Emirates will use the 615-seater on 21 routes from its Dubai hub. They include Munich, which will see it daily from January 1 until March 28. It’ll be the third German airport with flights on the very high-capacity capacity equipment.

Other destinations include the Saudi pilgrimage city of Medinah, which is Emirates’ shortest A380 route. The carrier has gradually increased the number of double-decker services there, all of which use this layout. It now plans ten departures in 2026, significantly more than in any other year. It’ll be deployed on January 8 and May 14, 16, 17, 18 (two flights), 19, 20, and 21 (two flights).

Six of the routes will only have one or two departures: Amsterdam (February 6 and 21), Barcelona (February 7), Cairo (January 19 and 20), Paris CDG (February 13), Rome Fiumicino (January 3 and February 15), and Shanghai Pudong (February 13). As these occur in the first quarter, other time-limited operations are likely in the second quarter, but these aren’t known yet.

The Six Routes With At Least A Daily Service

The following six destinations all have at least 181 departing flights in the first half of 2026 (i.e., daily throughout the period). They probably won’t come as a surprise. Other routes, such as Bali/Denpasar and Mauritius, came close to being included.

Had this analysis been conducted in the first six months of 2025 instead, the primary difference would be London Gatwick. The 615-seater has a long history of flying to the UK’s second-busiest airport, and it is still deployed there. But as it won’t be seen there between February 1 and March 28, it didn’t meet the criterion for inclusion.

On February 8, Emirates will have four daily Gatwick flights. As such, A380 services have been reduced, varying between daily and twice daily, not all on the 615-seater. The route’s extra daily frequency means overall seats for sale have increased year-over-year, while it’ll benefit from increased market share and competitiveness. The carrier next plans three daily A380 flights in winter 2026/2027, two of which will be aboard the two-class configuration.

When all equipment is included, Prague has been part of Emirates’ network for 15 years. In this time, the A330-200, A380, 777-200ER, 777-200LR, 777-300 (non-ER), and 777-300ER have all been used. Emirates’ narrowbody partner, flydubai, has flown its 737s to the Czech capital since 2014.

After a one-off service in July 2015, the A380 appeared daily between May 2016 and March 2020. Surprisingly or not, first-class-equipped frames were used—not the 615-seater.

After a COVID-19-driven absence, the superjumbo returned in December 2024. Since then, the two-class configuration has been almost exclusively deployed. As the table shows, it’ll be Emirates’ sole equipment deployed to the Czech capital in the first half of 2026.
