Earlier this year, US low-cost carrier Breeze Airways launched its first international services and is also adding more international routes later this year. Alongside this expansion, the airline has continued to grow its domestic network. Since launching operations in 2021, the carrier has followed a point-to-point model, concentrating on secondary airports and underserved markets that are often overlooked by larger network airlines.

This strategy has allowed it to expand selectively while limiting direct competition on major trunk routes. The same approach is continuing into 2026. Breeze has already announced several new domestic markets, including new routes from California as well as a niche addition to Twin Falls, Idaho. The latter has not previously sustained long-term scheduled service from a national airline.

Breeze Airways Is Reportedly Adding Atlantic City To Its Network

It also appears that Breeze may announce additional destinations in the near future. As reported by Ishrion Aviation on X, the airline is believed to be evaluating a few new cities, alongside additional routes from existing stations. One airport that has drawn attention is Atlantic City International Airport. Airport officials have confirmed that a new commercial airline will be announced shortly, although the carrier has not yet been named. In a media release, the airport said the addition is expected to “significantly strengthen regional connectivity and drive long-term economic impact across the region.”

If Breeze were to enter the market, Atlantic City would broadly align with its existing strategy. The city is a leisure-focused destination, centered around gaming, entertainment, and seasonal tourism. At present, Spirit Airlines has a strong presence at the airport, largely serving Florida leisure markets, while Allegiant operates quite a few seasonal routes. Reportedly, Breeze is planning to launch a nonstop route from Raleigh–Durham International Airport.

San Antonio Could Be The Other Destination

Another potential destination under discussion is San Antonio. As reported by Ishrion Aviation, Breeze is expected to add two new routes to San Antonio, linking the city with Raleigh–Durham in North Carolina and Memphis in Tennessee. Notably, nonstop service between San Antonio and Raleigh–Durham has been a long-standing goal for local leaders, particularly given the concentration of life sciences and research activity in North Carolina’s Research Triangle.

Direct service between San Antonio and North Carolina has been limited. At present, American Airlines serves the broader North Carolina–San Antonio market via its Charlotte hub, where it operates three to four daily flights. Besides, Frontier also operated Charlotte–San Antonio and Raleigh–Durham–San Antonio services on a short-lived basis.

Furthermore, the Memphis route would also fill a gap in the current network. Today, nonstop service between Tennessee and San Antonio is limited to Nashville, where Southwest Airlines operates multiple daily flights during much of the year. Delta Air Lines previously operated Memphis–San Antonio flights but exited the market after closing its Memphis hub following the Northwest Airlines merger in the early 2010s.

Nassau Could Be The Airline’s Fourth International Destination

Alongside its domestic expansion, Breeze is also reportedly preparing to add another international destination. The airline had been pursuing international flying authority since 2023 and received approval from the US Department of Transportation in June last year to operate services to countries covered under Open Skies agreements with the United States. Following that approval, the carrier launched international services to Cancun, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana.

A fourth destination is now being discussed; Nassau in the Bahamas is likely. Interestingly, speculations suggest that the airline may be considering launching the route from Tampa. Tampa International Airport has indicated that it will announce a new international destination tomorrow, though no airline or route has been formally confirmed.

Indeed, demand for Nassau has increased in recent years. According to Cirium data, seat capacity to the destination is up by more than 77% compared with 2021. Currently, American Airlines, JetBlue, Tradewind Aviation, Bahamasair, and Southwest are operating flights between Florida and Nassau.
