The Royal Air Force (RAF) has a network of bases, airfields and facilities throughout Great Britain and the commonwealth territories around the world that partner with the United Kingdom. RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire is the headquarters for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) operations. The flightline at Waddington includes the

Combat aircraft

RAF Lossiemouth is located in Moray, Scotland, and specializes in maritime patrol and QRA operations for the northern UK. The base operates the Boeing P-8 Poseidon, which supports search and rescue operations and has anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Because of its advantageous location close to the North Atlantic, Lossiemouth can react quickly to sea and air threats.
